In certain situations, the ECB may create profiles about you for the purposes declared above (in accordance with Article 6 GDPR, Law 133/2011, and Law 195/2024). Profiling represents the automated processing of your data to evaluate or analyze aspects relating to you (preferences, behavior, etc.).
The ECB may segment its clients according to various criteria (age, geographic area, types of expenses, etc.) in order to classify them into different categories for analysis purposes. For example, the ECB may consider transaction data (number and value of transactions, industry code of payment beneficiaries, value of amounts transacted) and demographic data (urban/rural area of residence, age) to determine the likelihood of purchasing an ECB product or service (such as a savings product).
